Add Text/copy to Original MAD Page!
If you are purchasing the original inked art for a MAD page, you can get the text/copy printed out and pasted up on your page, making it match the page as seen in the magazine (except for the color… duh). See the before and after images here.
Thanks to the miracle of modern digital publishing, MAD stopped pasting the words up in the word boxes of their original black and white art pages sometime during the Clinton administration. Instead, they did it all on the computer! That led to a lot of pages of original MAD art with big, blank word boxes just begging to be filled with a lot of mediocre jokes. But, thanks to the miracle of modern inkjet printers, you can now have those mediocre jokes added back to your page of original MAD art!
The team of elves in Tom’s studio will painstakingly reproduce the text as seen on the page in the magazine your original art appeared in! They will use the exact same font, and specs, and the same decent spelling and grammar… just like that page in MAD! The text is printed on an archival paper using archival inks and pasted up using archival adhesive… it’s as archival as you can get!
Unfortunately, the elves don’t come cheap. It’s costs a bundle to keep them in candy canes, sugar cookies, and booze. It’s tough to get good help these days.
